How about instead of banning them and suspending their accounts we send all jerks to a sort of GW Hell. ANet restrict them to certain "Jerk Only" distrticts where they can only interact, trade, and group with their own kind. See how they like it. You never know, it might actually change a few of them.

Here's the other side of the coin.

When I play with PUGs, I often play a monk. The thing that annoys me most is when W/Mos recast their mending (that's been stripped off them for 2 gazillion times already), rush off into the next group of foes without so much as a call, while the rest of the party hangs back to regenerate and chat a bit among themselves.

A real team player that one...

Certainly a jerk that guy was. I've tried trapping in the old UW with my ranger and can't think of a more boring way to play GW. Effective, but too slow and boring. Far better to be a trapper in a mixed group. And also very effective. If he wasn't such a jerk he might have realized that. If a trapper takes along throw dirt and maybe Oath shot (to recharge throw dirt), the trapper can continue setting traps even in the middle of a battle, especially in the new UW which doesn't have any ranger enemies. And nothing like dust trap to blind and flame trap to hurt! The grasps run around so much, they can't help but run into the traps. I did the new UW successfully last night with my ranger and 7 henchies (flame trap, dust trap, throw dirt, oath shot, distracting and savage shot, rebirth and troll unguent) and got a greenie out of it

We head out into the flaming yonder of Perdition Rock. The ranger immediatly runs up to the Flesh Golems, and tries to lay a trap point blank. She gets interrupted when they swing at her of course. She keeps on going, trying to lay traps.

Then the hydras aggro. The other mesmer and I are working overtime trying to shatter hexes and keep those meteor showers off us. Does the ranger even try to interrupt anything? No, it's trap trap trap trap trap. Rather, she was trying to tank and trap, something that normally doesn't work, and certainly didn't work for her.

Someone zones us back into Ember Light in the panic and confusion. What does the ranger say? "Kick one of the mesmers, we need another monk."

The other mesmer and I PMed each other, ditched, and then formed our own group. We had no problems in the least after that, making Flesh Golems and hydras drop dead in their tracks.

Whoa, hold on here! What are we doing here? We are playing Guild Wars, a game, and we are supposed to be having fun doing it, right? A group begins to form, and it may have 2 Mesmers, or it may have 3 Rangers, or whatever. Now, these 2 Mesmers or whatever may LIKE to play mesmers or they may be friends or whatever. And so along comes another party member who then begins to insist that one of the players already in the party gets kicked? Hey jciardha, if I was party leader, the first thing I would have done in your situation is kick the ranger! That is asocial behavior and a sign that this one is not going to be a team player. Any player that comes into my party and immediately starts insisting that a party member is not needed or should be kicked gets kicked by me.

And besides, two Mesmers in a group works great! As long as the mesmers know their skills, two mesmers in the same group will never be a disadvantage.

Ok.. the jerk here might be me, but this is a riot..
There's a guy in Beetletun, wanting to sell his silver dye.. At first it's "WTS Silver Dye." Maybe at 30 sec intervals, but it gets worse.. "WTS Silver Dye""WTS Silver Dye""WTS Silver Dye""WTS Silver Dye""WTS Silver Dye""WTS Silver Dye""WTS Silver Dye" And he's spamming like crazy. So I whisper him, Ok, "How much and how many do you have?" He replies " 1 and offer." At this point, the Dye trader is selling 1 silver dye for 700, and I say 550, thinking it was an okay price..
"lol im not noob" <-- exact reply
Then I, who thought it was fair, but just a teeny weeney low, respond," Then don't spam like one." Yes, harsh but I can't stand spammers.. And so he doesn't reply (maybe he's trying to think of a comeback) and completely ignores me, my offer, and last remark.
One minute passes in Beetletun.
Same guy. "WTS Silver Dye 1k"
People laugh at him, go crazy..
I was gonna say something about what he defines a noob as, but then again, I'm not usually a mean person. So he only gets a "rofl are you kidding?"

Well...I have plenty of jerk stories unfortunately. Most of them involve my monk too, I have no idea why people decide to be such jerks to monks. I get compliments the last 5 missions of the game, yet everywhere else, I am a n00b healer. It is the worst in the crystal desert, thank goodness I don't need anything else from there.

I will share a nice story about a person who just joined the group asking someone to be kicked. Using my Ranger I had finished Abbadons Mouth with a group of people, we worked really well together. Afterwards a few people had to go, a couple of them being the healers. We recruited a few members, the last being a monk. Who joined and said that they wanted another one because they wouldn't be able to heal by themselves. Perfectly true and resonable. I wanted to do it, but needed to go to bed. I added people from the previous mission, and told everyone that I would go so that they would have room for another monk. I think that was rather nice of me.

Sorry not to post a jerks story, but I didn't really want to. Jerks abound in game, so I guess I'll be a jerk by posting off topic.

I would've booted the ranger the minute they started complaining about the build. If they didn't like the build, why did they bother to join in the first place? Besides, if he/she wanted a particular build for a group, why not form his/her own group?

That's not too surprising.

A lot of jerks who think they're uberleet get stuck at the desert missions. No teamwork or target calling will kill you in Thirsty, pulling poorly and impatience will kill you in Elona, etc. It's like a weed-out course in college.

THK is another one like that. So, for the most part, once you're past THK the player quality usually goes up and you get less griefers and jerks. I got through each of the RoF missions with PUGs on the first try. The missions before that? Forget it.

EDIT: I just want to clarify that, obviously, not everyone who gets stuck at these missions is a jerk. However, my statements could have been interpreted that way, and then I'd be the jerk. Anyway, carry on!

so it started when i was in the tombs of primeval kings i was trying to sell the victos blade at 85k (2 seperate people told me that i was selling cheap at 65k and that i might find the right buyer at 85-100k, also the night before i sold 1 for 100k the guy was desperate for one and offered me 100k)

so i said [WTS] victos blade [85k]

i get pinged with

him:"OMG wat a rip off u a ?$%^ "££$?&^£"

now i dont take kindly to threats and from some1 i dont know i got kinda angry

so i said

me:"WTF get lost i sold one for more last night and to seperate people told me 2 sell higher which i am so get lost"

pinged again with more of the above

so i said again "get lost i dont care wat u think"

pinged again more THREATS

so i said :"get lost ure propably a 12 year old who hasnt got a clue how to play the game and ure mother bought u this for christmas so F$?% OFF!"

get a ping

him:"eh, no u "muffed"(wat ever that is) come down to EAST LONDON and u will get ure ass kicked"

Now i was extremely pi^^ed i do martial arts so i know how to defend myself and this jerk was theatning

So I've been following this thread for like a couple of days and having a good laugh. I thought to myself on several occasions why I never ran into such idiots. Well, today happened...

I take my 20Monk to Ascalon and plan on giving away a MAX DMG Flamberge with req. 8 on swordsmanship. I say;
"Giving away MAX DMG Flamberge ( req. 8 Swordsmanship ) to low leveled warriors. ( W/X )"
My first whisper was 'your a noob, there is no X profession.'
I didn't bother whith replying so I added him to my ignore list.
Then I get whispers from several other characters who all were N/W, or Mes/Mo, or such and such. I tell each of them that I'm only giving away flamberge to W/X only. But this N/W keeps doing the Trade window, and I keep telling him no. Finally I give it away to a 9W/R and he doesn't give a thanks or anything, he actually says, "I thought you said you was giving it away!" Dude, I just gave it to you without a single gold from you, I gave it away to you, as in... freely handed it to you via Trade window. "Oh..." And I don't hear anything else from that W/R.

But this N/W starts off on me after finally telling him I gave it away.
'I'm not letting you in my guild'
'got one already, leave me alone, plskthnx'
'ours is #1, we are war machine'
'war what? I don't care...'
'Yea, my brother is the leader and he told me not argue with a noob like you'

Anyone in Grotto last night during the late hours?

Some bozo was such a big ass to everyone the whole district spammed "beep" for almost an hour to drown the guy out.

The kicker? The bonehead kept flaming people. He wasn't going to let a small thing such as social meltdown stop him from insulting random people on the internet.
